WATER WELL DRILLING
-
COMMERCIAL & INDUSTRIAL

Champion employees are trained and certified by the National Ground Water Association with many years of
experience in south Florida. We offer commercial and industrial wells from 2 to
20 in diameter, with flow rates from 30 to 1500 gallons
per minute. Casing materials may include ASTM 53 A Black steel, Galvanized steel, PVC
Schedule 40 and 80 well casing. Wells may be Open End or Screened
depending on the location and the formations in the area. Drilling available by Casing
Hammer, Mud Rotary, Cable Tool and Augers.
Open end wells are used in locations with consolidated
formations, and are driven with hammers. The casing is drilled clean and an open hole is
drilled below the casing and into the rock.. The well is developed with air and pumps,
then pump tested to determine flow rate and drawdown from natural static water table.
Screened gravel-packed wells are drilled using the direct mud
rotary method. A hole is drilled using a bentonite mud slurry, typically twice the size of
the casing and screen. After drilling the screen and casing is lowered in the borehole and
centered. A graded sand is pumped around the screen to form
the gravel pack. The well is grouted from the screen interval to the surface with cement
or bentonite. The well is now in place and is developed using surge blocks or air.
Screens can be ordered in stainless steel or PVC construction
and come in many slot sizes. Casing material for screened wells usually is PVC but may be
installed with steel. This can be determined with a site survey from one of our
representatives.
